Neutralize oven exhaust
Western Smokehouse prides themselves on providing premium meat snacks to a large roster of partners and loyal consumers. To improve upon their high standards of quality control, AC Systems was invited to examine their current HVAC systems to better optimize circulation and maximize efficiencies. After a thorough on-site examination, it was determined their ovens were exhausting enough air to cause fluctuations in temperature and humidity.
Working closely with their Operations Team, our experts were tasked to create an innovative HVAC system that delivered precise, all-season temperature and humidity control throughout the smoking facility.
Establish an efficient and sustainable system to maintain optimal conditions
As a team the vendor, contractor, and owner agreed upon providing 100% Outside Air units to offset the exhaust air from the ovens. The systems were designed to constantly modulate the amount of outside air delivered regardless of seasonality or the number of ovens in use.
OUR WORK INCLUDED
- Provide (1) Cambridge M130 Direct Fired MUA unit to condition air during the fall, winter, and spring.
- Provide (2) AAON RN-70 Dehumidification units to control the space temperature and humidity throughout changing seasons.
- The Cambridge and AAON units alternate use depending upon the outside air temperature and will modulate the respective supply fans to maintain a slightly positive building pressure.
- By utilizing AAON’s cost-effective GPC-XP controller, the two heating and dehumidification systems operate with automated changeover.
- Additionally, a remote monitoring system was added to support, monitor, and train Western’s technicians throughout the lifecycle of the system and equipment.
RESULTS
By providing make-up air and more tightly controlling the air conditions delivered to the ovens, Western has been able to hone and refine their cooking process, giving a boost to their bottom line.
